The orchestra was founded in 1994 on the initiative of the then director, Aleksander Radzewski. It is composed of the most outstanding students of this school. The majority of them are laureates of prestigious awards in competitions and festivals in Poland and abroad. The orchestra has participated in many artistic projects in Poland and Germany. It plays an active role in the cultural life of Poznań and the surrounding region, taking part in events such as the concert series “Manors and Palaces Near Poznań Brought to Life by Music” as well as the annual Christmas Concerts in the Hall of the Adam Mickiewicz University. Among the soloists the orchestra has performed with are Barbara Gutaj, Wiesław Prządka, and Vadim Brodski. The orchestra’s repertoire includes pieces from the Baroque era to contemporary compositions, with a special focus on film and popular music in classical arrangements.
