The music press has been closely following this young artist, describing him as a ‘complete musician’ (Michel Le Naour, concertclassic.com), valuing him for his ‘pianistic authority and rich colour palette’ (Alain Cochard, concertclassic.com) and predicting him to become one of the ‘future great masters of the piano’ (La Croix magazine). Tanguy de Williencourt pursues a very active career on French and foreign stages – Russia, Germany, Switzerland and Japan. He made a notable appearance at the Victoires de la Musique in 2017 and was invited to take part in a film performed with Renée Fleming in a film on the American Diva and Paris, shot at the Théâtre du Châtelet, which will be shown worldwide in IMAX cinemas in 2022. His discography includes the complete piano transcriptions of Wagner/Liszt and all of Beethoven’s Bagatelles (4 stars awarded by Classica and Diapason magazines) released by Mirare. Tanguy de Williencourt has also recorded works for cello and piano with Bruno Philippe for the Harmonia Mundi, the label for which he has also worked on a Berlioz album with mezzo-soprano Stéphanie d’Oustrac and was the featured pianist of CD Debussy: the late works which received the BBC Music Magazine Award and the Gramophone Award in 2019. The latest one, Proust, le concert retrouvé was recently named as one of the eight Gramophone Recordings of the Year 2021. The artist will present some of the songs from this album during his upcoming tour in South America. In 2022, Mirare will release his next album featuring solo and orchestral works by César Franck. Tanguy de Williencourt is supported by the Blüthner, Banque Populaire, ADAMI (Classical Revelation) and SPEDIDAM Foundations. He won the double Jury and Public Prize of the Société des Arts de Genève and the Paris Play-Direct Competition at the Philharmonie de Paris with the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris.
