She began her musical education as a pianist at the age of 6. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in symphony and opera conducting from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. In the 2022/23 artistic season, she served as a conductor-in-residence in the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra, as part of the “Conductor-in-Residence” program run by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

She won the second prize and the chamber orchestra award at the 3rd National A. Kopyciński Conducting Students’ Competition in Wrocław (2020). In 2021, she participated in masterclasses with Marin Alsop and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice. The following year (2022), she was selected as one of six conductors from around the world to participate in the Conductor’s Academy with Paavo Järvi and the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, where she received the Audience Award during the closing concert. On 31 December 2022, she made her debut at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, conducting the New Year’s Concert featuring soprano Iwona Sobotka. She is also a semi-finalist in the 17th Donatella Flick Conducting Competition with the London Symphony Orchestra (2023) and International Counducting Competition “Guido Cantelli” 2022 in Turin.

To develop her skills, she actively participated in masterclasses with Paavo Järvi, Marin Alsop, Johannes Schlaefli, Neeme Järvi, Kristjan Järvi, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Carlo Montanaro, Leonid Grin, George Tchitchinadze, Massimiliano Caldi, and Yu Feng. She had the opportunity to conduct orchestras such as the National Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, the Baltic Sea Philharmonic, the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz, the Järvi Academy Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Łódź Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the Jerzy Semkow Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music Symphony Orchestra. As an assistant conductor, she collaborated with Marek Janowski, Jacek Kaspszyk, Marta Gardolińska, and Dirk Vermeulen. She gained experience by assisting in productions of the Polish National Ballet led by Patrick Fournillier and Marta Kluczyńska (Corsair 2021/2022, Dracula 2022).

Zofia Kiniorska participates in this year’s international conducting competition, the Gustav Mahler Conducting Competition in Bamberg and the Gstaad Conducting Academy.

Since 2022, she has been leading the Symphony Orchestra of the State Music School Complex No. 1 in Warsaw.
