“To tell stories and to move” is the mission of music according to Eva Zavaro, one of the most talented violinists of her generation. Born into a Franco-Polish family in 1995, she trained at the CNSMD Conservatory in Paris with Roland Daugareil, Suzanne Gessner, and Christophe Poiget, then honed her skills with Julia Fischer at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich. She won first prize and the Vadim Repin prize for the best Mozart interpretation at the 2018 Johannes Brahms International Competition in Austria. Nominated for the Victoires de la Musique Instrumental Soloist Revelation award in 2021. Since her solo debut at the age of 14 with the London Symphonic Orchestra under Sir John Eliot Gardiner at Salle Pleyel in Paris, she has performed with numerous orchestras worldwide. Her performances include Chausson’s Poème and Ravel’s Tzigane at Prague’s Rudolfinum, and Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Orchestre de Paris conducted by Alain Altinoglu on the television programme “Fauteuils d’orchestre”. She has also collaborated frequently with the Orchestre de Pau Pays de Béarn and Fayçal Karoui. In 2019, she made her debut at the Berlin Philharmonic with the Potsdamer Kammerorchester, performing concertos by Mozart and Bach. Two years later, she appeared for the first time at the Philharmonie de Paris with the Orchestre de Paris conducted by Julien Masmondet featuring a programme dedicated to the works of Camille Saint-Saëns. Known for her passion for contemporary music, she has premiered numerous works, including compositions by Pascal Zavaro, Lucas Debargue, and Charles Beffa, some of which were written specifically for her. She has also recorded Pierre Wissmer’s Violin Concerto No. 2 with the Hungarian Symphony Orchestra under Alain Pâris (Claves Records). As a dedicated chamber musician, she participated in the 2014 Seji Ozawa Academy Switzerland, performing under the master’s baton at Geneva’s Victoria Hall and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris. Since January 2023, she has been a member of Trio Hélios, appearing in piano recitals at the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the Rencontres Musicales d’Évian, and the Konzerthaus in Berlin. She also performed under the direction of Valery Gergiev at the Mariinsky Concert Hall in Russia as part of the White Nights Festival. Eva Zavaro plays an Italian violin known as ‘Le Bel Inconnu’, crafted to the highest standards of violin-making craftsmanship of Nicolò Amati and Antonio Stradivari, which is kindly on loan to her.
