Born in 2007, Franciszek Kaczyński began playing the trumpet at the age of seven at the Primary Music School No. 3 in Wrocław, where he studied for eight years under the guidance of Aleksander Zalewski. He is now continuing his musical education with Mirosław Wenc at the Karol Szymanowski Secondary Music School in Wrocław, as well as at the Master School of Professor Igor Cecocho.
He regularly hones his skills through workshops, masterclasses, and a wide range of musical projects and performances. He has appeared at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław as part of the #NFMpromotes programme and has given a solo recital at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice.
Franciszek performs in the school’s symphony orchestra and its big band, the Marching Band. He has received top prizes at numerous national and international competitions. Among his most notable successes are two Grand Prix awards – at the Mały Trębacz (Little Trumpeter) Competition in Trąbki Wielkie and at the 29th Brass Showcase in Oława.
He has also been awarded first prizes at the National CEA – Centre for Artistic Education – Level II Music Competition in Sosnowiec, the Laszlo Spezzaferri International Music Prize in Verona, the International Viennese Spring Music Competition, the Young Musician Competition in Szczecinek, and the International Wind Instruments Competition in Jastrzębie-Zdrój.
Further distinctions include second prize at the Tiziano Rossetti International Music Competition in Switzerland and the 9th National Ludwik Lutak Competition in Kraków, as well as third prize (Youth Category) at the 9th National Trumpet Festival in Kalisz.
Franciszek is a multiple recipient of the President of Wrocław’s scholarship and was awarded the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship for the 2022/2023 academic year.
Outside of music, he is passionate about sport and geography. He has won prizes in both short- and long-distance running and played football for 11 years with MKS Parasol Wrocław in the Lower Silesian Youth League.
