At just 21 years old, Luka Faulisi “combines his love of opera with a mastery of the violin in a display of virtuosity and promise,” wrote Diapason on the release of his debut recording with Sony Classical in spring 2023. His second album, dedicated to Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, was released in April 2024.
Having started violin studies at a very young age, Luka Faulisi studied with Boris Belkin at the Conservatorium Maastricht (Netherlands) and is currently continuing his training with Pavel Berman at the Accademia Lorenzo Perosi in Biella, Italy. Over the years, encounters with renowned musicians have played an important role in his development. Pavel Berman describes him as “an incredibly gifted virtuoso”, Emmanuel Pahud recognises “a young man of exceptional instrumental ability and deep musical expression”, while Jean-Jacques Kantorow praises his “remarkable ease”.
Named among Classic FM’s Rising Stars in 2023, Faulisi has already made his debut with the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse under Wilson Ng (Halle aux grains), with the Solistes de la Camerata of the Menuhin Academy (KKL Lucerne), with the Symphony Orchestra of Serbian Radio and Television (Kolarac Hall, Belgrade), with the Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestra under Case Scaglione, with the Filarmonica di Torino conducted by Giampaolo Pretto, with the Macao Orchestra under Tung-Chieh Chuang, as well as at the Royal Albert Hall.
As a chamber musician, his stage partners include Itamar Golan, Jean-Paul Gasparian, Lidija Bizjak and his sister Bianca. Luka Faulisi performs on a 1770 violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini.
