Maria Szehidewicz

violin

Sixteen-year-old violinist Maria Szehidewicz began studying the violin at the age of six under Aneta Dunaj at the State Primary Music School in Białystok. Since 2021, she has continued her education at the Witold Lutosławski State Secondary Music School in Białystok, where she studies with Andrzej Jabłoński.

She has taken part in numerous masterclasses with distinguished violinists, including Piotr Tarcholik, Oriana Masternak, Antoni Cofalik and Włodzimierz Promiński. A prizewinner at many national and international competitions held in cities such as Kraków, Warsaw, Białystok, Olsztyn and Grajewo, she has performed both in Poland and abroad (Slovenia, Lithuania, Latvia). Since 2024, she has participated in the Winter Music Academy run by the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice. Maria has received scholarships from the Prime Minister of Poland, the Marshal of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, and the Centre for Artistic Education.

In addition to playing the violin, she also sings and dances, achieving success on both national and international stages. She regularly performs at school events, including the annual Spring of Artistic Youth concert series and School Day celebrations. In her spare time, she arranges music for various ensembles.

Outside of music, Maria is passionate about Eastern archery – in which she has also received national awards – and is actively involved in scouting, a family tradition passed down by her parents.
