The orchestra has played a vital role in the school’s educational and artistic endeavors for years, as well as in the musical life of Wrocław. It has been led by conductors such as Stanisław Krukowski, Mieczysław Gawroński, Wojciech Rodek, and since 2008, Marcin Grabosz. Since its inception, this ensemble has accompanied outstanding students during their diploma concerts, which take place in concert halls across Wrocław – at the National Forum of Music, the Main Studio of the Polish Radio, and the Karol Lipiński Music Academy. The orchestra performed twice as part of the events accompanying the Wratislavia Cantans Festival. In 1995, the orchestra took part in the production of the film Deszczowy żołnierz [Rainy Soldier] directed by Wiesław Saniewski, and in 1998, it participated in the 19th Stage Song Contest, performing Hadrian Filip Tabęcki’s Msza Polska [Polish Mass] with a TV recording. From 1999 to 2002, the orchestra made several appearances in Germany. In 2005, it became a part of Wrocław’s cultural scene, performing twice at the Wrocław Philharmonic as part of the Spring Day in Europe and the Classic Premiere festival. In 2007, it appeared at the Wrocław Philharmonic during the Szymanowski in Memoriam concert. The orchestra also took part in the Wrocław Fantasy Days in 2009, performing music from the Star Wars film series. In 2022, the orchestra, along with 470 choir members, gave the world premiere of the composition Muzykopedia by Krzysztof Domański at the National Forum of Music.
