Tymon Okolus is a 17-year-old trombonist from Bielsko-Biała, currently a senior at the Stanisław Moniuszko State Music School Complex in Bielsko-Biała, where he studies under Professor Zdzisław Stolarczyk. For him, jazz music offers a refreshing escape from the classical repertoire that dominates his daily life at the music school.
He is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions. Among his most significant achievements are: Grand Prix at the 10th National Ludwik Lutak Competition in Kraków, Grand Prix at the 17th International Wind Instruments Competition in Wrocław, Grand Prix at the National CEA Music Competition in Radom (trombone category), Grand Prix at the 14th International “Wind Instruments” Competition in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Grand Prix at the 4th National Competition for Trombonists and Tubists in Bytom.
In addition to his competition successes, Tymon has been awarded the Scholarship of the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage for artistic achievements (2022 and 2024), as well as the prestigious “Young Poland” scholarship in 2023.
He has performed at venues and events such as Jassmine, Mrowna Jazz Festival, and the Kalisz Jazz Pianists Festival, earning recognition in both the classical and jazz music scenes.
