Wind Orchestra of the Karol Szymanowski State Primary and Secondary Music School in Płock

The orchestra was founded in 2015. It is composed of over 50 students from the school’s woodwind and percussion classes. Since its inception, its conductor has been Grzegorz Dębski. Among its major competition achievements are the Grand Prix in the “Golden Sardana” Festival (2018) and the first prize in the First International Orchestra Competition “Neman Fest” in Belarus (online, 2021). The orchestra has been engaged in concert activities for years. Notable projects include the “Kolędowanie” concert (2020) and two editions of the “Evening at the Cinema” concert (2022 and 2023). Each concert has been captured on DVD recordings. The ensemble participated in the La Folle Journée festival in 2019. The orchestra released an album titled To MA Sens [It Makes Sense] (2018), as well as a song and music video recording of the piece Zostań Nerdem [Be a Nerd] with Czesław Mozil. In August 2022, the orchestra performed at the Closing Gala of the first edition of the Big Festivalowski in the Dramatic Theater in Płock. In April 2023, the orchestra premiered Karol Pyka’s Mass in E-flat major for soprano, mixed choir, and wind orchestra.
