Kazimierz Dąbrowski

Kazimierz Dąbrowski graduated in symphonic and operatic conducting from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied under Professor Ryszard Dudek. He continued his education at the N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St Petersburg, studying with Professor Alexander Polishchuk. He has collaborated with orchestras both in Poland and internationally – including in Austria, the Czech Republic, Romania, Lithuania, Norway and Russia. His operatic engagements have included productions at the Warsaw Chamber Opera and the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw.

A prizewinner at the Craiova International Conducting Competition (2009, Romania), he has also participated in masterclasses with Vladimir Kiradjiev (Bulgaria) and D. Wilson (USA). He has held scholarships from Keimyung University and the Pro Polonia Society Foundation in South Korea, as well as the City of Białystok’s “Young Creators” grant.

Dąbrowski is deeply committed to youth education through artistic practice, a passion that has led him to develop numerous interdisciplinary projects in Poland and abroad. He is Artistic Director of the Suwałki Chamber Orchestra and has worked with institutions including the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, the Gorzów Philharmonic, the Non-Public School of Dance in Białystok, the Podlasie Dance Association, the Music School in Koper (Slovenia), the Sonata Orchestra in Warsaw, and the Podlasie Chamber Orchestra – with which he recorded an album in 2023 featuring Chopin piano concertos with soloist Radosław Sobczak.

He currently conducts the orchestras of the Ignacy Paderewski Music School Complex in Białystok, where he also serves as Deputy Director. He maintains an ongoing collaboration with the Białystok branch of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, preparing and conducting student opera productions. In 2022, he was awarded the title of Doctor of Arts.
